Both Year 1 classes at Redstart Primary School have now enjoyed an exciting visit to Chard Library to help increase their love of books and reading.
As part of their learning experience, staff and pupils planned their route using a map and discussed the various activities that take place in a library.
Upon arrival, pupils had the opportunity to explore the library, browse books, and select stories to read.
The visit concluded with an engaging song and story session, making for a memorable and enriching experience.
Reading is a vital skill and a key focus for Year 1 learning. Parents/carers are encouraged to talk to their children about the visit and share a story together at home.
A school spokesperson said: “We are delighted that our pupils had such a fantastic time at Chard Library.
“Encouraging a love of reading from an early age is essential, and experiences like this help to develop enthusiasm and confidence in young readers.”
