Wraparound Care and Extra-Curricular Clubs

At Redstart Primary School and Nursery, we offer a range of wraparound care options to support families before and after the school day, as well as a variety of extra-curricular clubs throughout the year.

Bookings and payments for Breakfast Club and Tea Club can be made online via MCAS. If you require login details or support accessing the system, please contact the school office.

To help us ensure appropriate staffing levels, Breakfast Club places should be booked by 3.00pm on the previous day. We aim to be as flexible as possible, but advance booking is essential.

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club provides a safe, welcoming, and well-supervised environment for children aged 3 to 11 years. Sessions run from 7.45am, allowing children to enjoy a healthy breakfast, take part in a range of activities, and prepare for the school day ahead.

Children in Nursery through to Year 4 are escorted to their classrooms at the end of the session, while pupils in Years 5 and 6 make their way independently.

School Children with Sibling Discount (5%)

• 7:45am – 8:50am: £4.80
• 8:00am – 8:50am: £4.33

Nursery Children

• 7:45am – 9:00am: £6.00
• 8:00am – 9:00am: £5.50

Nursery Children with Sibling Discount (5%)

• 7:45am – 9:00am: £5.75
• 8:00am – 9:00am: £5.28

A 5% sibling discount is available when one or more siblings are booked into the same session. This applies to children attending both the school and nursery.

Important Information

• Sessions operate on a Pay As You Go basis and must be booked and paid for in advance.
• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations. Sessions cancelled after this time will still be charged.
• There are 30 bookable spaces available each day.
• Breakfast is included in the session cost and is served until 8.30am.
• Children whose behaviour consistently falls below expectations may lose the right to attend.
• Children should arrive via the hall entrance. Children up to Year 2 must be accompanied and handed over to Breakfast Club staff.
• Older children should not be left unsupervised before their booked session begins.
• Please do not use the school car park for drop-off.
• Childcare vouchers are accepted. Our Ofsted registration number is 9332329.

Tea Club

Tea Club provides a safe and enjoyable after-school environment for children in Reception to Year 6. Children are offered a light snack and drink and can take part in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, homework support, reading opportunities, and outdoor play.

Sessions run from 3.15pm to 5.30pm.

• 4:15pm – 5:30pm: £6.00
• 3:15pm – 5:30pm: £7.50

School Children with Sibling Discount (5%)

• 3:15pm – 4:15pm: £4.80
• 4:15pm – 5:30pm: £5.75
• 3:15pm – 5:30pm: £7.18

Nursery Tea Club

• 3:00pm – 4:15pm Monday to Thursday: £7.00

Nursery children can attend Tea Club until 4.15pm, Monday to Thursday. Sessions take place within the Nursery building and include a light snack and drink.

For collection, please use the main gate and select the Nursery option on the intercom screen. Children will be collected from the Nursery entrance.

Important Information

• Children are collected from their classrooms by Tea Club staff.
• A minimum of two adults are always present.
• Activities may take place outdoors and, where appropriate, off-site within the local area, such as visits to the nearby play park.
• Opportunities are available for children to complete homework or read with staff.
• Parents may collect their child at any time during the session.

• Sessions finish promptly at 5.30pm. A £10 late collection charge will be added to MCAS for any child collected after this time.
• Children whose behaviour consistently falls below expectations may lose the right to attend.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

At Redstart, we believe that extra-curricular activities provide valuable opportunities for children to develop new skills, pursue their interests, build friendships, and strengthen relationships with staff.

We offer a range of lunchtime and after-school clubs which change each term. Information about available clubs and details of how to apply are shared with parents at the start of each booking period. As places are often limited, we encourage families to apply via MCAS promptly.

Parents will be notified if their child has been allocated a place via MCAS.

If your child no longer wishes to attend a club, please inform the school or the member of staff running the club. Unless we have received notification from a parent or carer, we will expect your child to attend as normal and cannot release them early from a club session.

Should a club need to be cancelled unexpectedly, we will make every effort to notify families as soon as possible.
